My Next Projects - Part 2

While the monk idea is still bubbling in my brain, other thoughts have also formed there that may prove to be much more useful in the near future. I ~had~ thought to take the monk idea to Second Life, but that would cost money I just don't have right now. Every scrap of money we have or get goes to the running of the house, and keeping the Internet connection up and running.

So, where does that leave me and my ideas for projects? High and dry, at present. The crowd-funding project was a bust, even though I made the requisite $100 for it to go public. I'll try that again in the future, once I have a better idea of what and how I need to run the project. More videos, definitely, and better updates.

Perhaps I'll try putting Dionysia up as a serial blog, posting once a week for however many weeks I can keep the story running. If I do a page a day, I've got enough material to keep it going for at least a month or so, I believe. I can also include author's notes, to explain how things came about and so forth. I have to do a little reading first, of the book called Around the Writer's Block: Using Brain Science to Solve Writer's Resistance , which will help me get past this block I've had for nearly a year now. Well, not so much a year, as I've been able to write ~some~ things, but nothing I'd like to see in print just yet.

So, I have a goal (to write), and a plan (to read the block book), so we'll see how things go from here.

Tonight's Thoughts

Tonight's thoughts are about thinking. Thinking and writing, to be precise. I suffer a bit from writer's block, probably due, in part to the crippling depression I deal with on a daily basis. I'm going to try something new to help me break out of this block. I have three books I got from the library - Around the Writer's Block - The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging - and Get Rich Click! I'm not certain how that last one will help, but it reached out to me, and so was added to the list.

One of the things I've been reading in other blogging books is that one should find a niche to fill, just as one would do when trying to start a business. Unfortunately, my mind is far too jumbled to settle on any one niche or idea, so that's why this blog is a hodge-podge of thoughts and ideas.

In any case, I'm hoping that these books can help me get a grip on my writing and that I can start producing more valuable content that my readers will appreciate. If nothing else, they'll help me to get into my writing of my stories and that I can finish one and sell it.

In less tell than it takes to time

In less than one month, I shall become a half a century old. 50 years. I've forgotten most of the wonderful things I've seen and done. Each day brings new delights and old worries.

Fifty years. I can dimly remember my first bed. It was a bunk bed, as if my parents were planning on another son.

My next clearest memory was of my bedroom in Windsor, NY, on the farm. Most of my best memories are of that place, even though we were there only five years. Next was South Dakota, Rapid City, to be precise. Two years we lived there, visiting Mount Rushmore whenever relatives came to visit. It was here, in Rapid City, that I learned to ride a horse, and where I learned I was allergic to them. Strange things happened during those two years of my life, I'm still not sure of all of them.

Next was back to New York, Binghamton, where we lived with my father's mother until they could find a suitable house for us to move into. One was found in a quiet neighborhood not far from where I would go to school. Sixth, seventh and the first eighth grade were passed here. My repeat of the eighth grade was brought about by my math teacher who felt that even though I showed the aptitude, I hadn't passed her standards. The second time around was no worse that the first, in fact, quite pleasant, as I already knew the material. It was during this time that I begin to learn about hypnosis and set myself onto a course that I've enjoyed to this day. But, hypnosis is only one rail of my track, albeit the longest lasting. Well, that's not entirely true. Ancient history is my longest lasting pursuit of knowledge. Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, with a smattering of Atlantis and Aztecs thrown in for good measure.

High school was boring as hell, with little to pique my interest until our school opened a computer class. Had I had the patience and a bit more drive, I could have been at the forefront of the computer game programming age.

More to come in the coming days. I'm tired now and wish to sleep. To sleep, perchance to dream.
