Thoughts of the coming year.

2013 is a big year for me. I turn 50 in May. 50! There was a time I didn't think I would live past 15.

Of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, I've only really done anything with 1 (Weight-loss) and 8 (Listen to more MP3s). The subliminals are starting to sink in, I believe, so I'm getting re-programmed, but in a good way. The Stop Self-Sabotage subliminal is the one I want to work most, right now. It's in all three of the the first three sets I'll be using. I have four more nights before I move on the next set. I'll let you know what the next set is once I've loaded it to the iPod.

Goals - Day 9

In preparation for my online schooling, I've looked up and reserved as many of the books for the Master Herbalist class as I can find at my local library. A couple of them I've even purchased from Amazon and will be reading as soon as they arrive. The complete reading list is as follows:

The Human Body Book (Book & DVD)

Anatomy and Physiology For Dummies (For Dummies (Math & Science))

Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide (2nd Edition)

Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine: The Definitive Home Reference Guide to 550 Key Herbs with all their Uses as Remedies for Common Ailments

Herbal Drugstore

The Herbal Medicine-Maker's Handbook: A Home Manual

Prescription for Herbal Healing, 2nd Edition: An Easy-to-Use A-to-Z Reference to Hundreds of Common Disorders and Their Herbal Remedies

A-Z Guide to Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions Revised and Expanded 2nd Edition: Improve Your Health and Avoid Side Effects When Using Common Medications and Natural Supplements Together

By reading these volumes, I know I will not become a Master Herbalist as put forth by the school. But, I shall be a well-informed Herbalist In Training at the very least. To that end, I'm listening to the Subliminal Speed Learning Program - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems and Subliminal Speed Reading Program - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems MP3s, along with Stop Self-Sabotage , Achieve Your Goals - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems , Concentration - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems [Explicit] , and Subliminal Powerful Increase of Focus and Memory. These steps will most certainly guide me in the direction I wish to go. The Learning group of MP3s will go a long way towards helping me achieve my goals for the new year.

Goals - Day 2

The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss book came today. I've got some reading ahead of me. In addition to this book and the eight others I've ordered from Amazon, I've perused the local library for books from the Master Herbalist class from Natural Healing College. Read, read, then read some more! Luckily, two of the subliminals I'm listening to are Speed Learning, and Speed Reading. Before long, I'll be positively thirsting for things to read. I remember when I was that way as a teen.

If you are anything like me, you need help concentrating, keeping focused on the task, committing things to memory, and stop sabotaging your efforts. Following is the list of subliminals that I'm currently listening to in order to make this whole thing work more smoothly.

Subliminal Speed Learning Program - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems, Subliminal Speed Reading Program - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems, Subliminal Powerful Increase of Focus and Memory, Concentration - Binaural Beat Brainwave Subliminal Systems [Explicit], Stop Self-Sabotage

There's no guarantee this will work as I foresee it. Your mileage may vary. I'm going to listen to this list of recordings for the entire month of January. After this playlist comes the one to boost my sex drive. That one has two reasons to be listening to, which I will enlighten you with once I start on that playlist.

In the meantime, happy listening!

13 Goals for 2013

Writer's Digest first Writer's Prompt for the new year is as follows:

Weekly Writing Prompt

Make a New Year’s resolution list that includes 10 goals. They don’t all have to be writing-related, but at least 3 of them do. Then refer to this post often this year and update it as you complete your goals.

I decided to take it a step further and make it 13 goals for 2013. So, what shall my goals be, hmmm?

1) Lose 25 - 30 pounds by June. I already had this in mind, as I was ordering books from Amazon with the gift card I got from my wife. I ordered The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss along with 20,000 Secrets of Tea: The Most Effective Ways to Benefit from Nature's Healing Herbs.

2) Rewrite my erotic fiction story from a couple years ago and e-publish it.

3) Outline and begin my non-fiction work on herbs and healing.

4) Read more books. I got a Polaroid Tablet for Christmas from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I downloaded the Kindle reader to it and started reading some of the ebooks I had already purchased. I need to read much more.

5) Create things that make people feel good. Cordials from Your Kitchen: Easy, Elegant Liqueurs You Can Make & Give and The Healing Powers of Chocolate are good places to start.

6) Clean out and re-organize my man-cave. Maybe I can gain a few inches so I can turn my chair around completely without whacking my knees on anything. Tasha keeps threatening to clean it for me, but the last time she did that I lost an entire pile of idea notecards.

7) Plant a container garden on the balcony out front. I want to try Burpee's new container corn seed, and some of their plants, like stevia. I'd also like to grow some plants from this book, The Medicinal Garden: How to Grow and Use Your Own Medicinal Herbs.

8) Listen to more of the MP3s I have on the Amazon Cloud Player and downloaded to my tablet, Hal-1000. They are all subliminals and will go a long way towards helping me to improve myself in a number of areas.

9) Purchase and get used to using Scrivener [Download] to see if that helps my writing at all.

10) Enter and begin online classes for Master Herbalist or Holistic Healer. I have this school - http://naturalhealingcollege.com/ - in mind. Now to raise the tuition!

11) Prune my current book collection so I can make room for more. I've got 9 books coming from my gift card orders and no place to put them. Half-Price Books is a good place to get rid of the ones I prune out, and I get money in the process.

12) Read more of the books I get from the library, so they don't just sit and collect dust until they are due each time. I should also make more use of the library's resources in my research for my non-fiction book.

13) Move into a house so everyone has their own room and TJ has room to stretch out and tinker to his heart's content. (New Rule - NO putting the man-cave in the master bedroom!)

Well, that's it, I guess. Now to put it in motion.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
